Day 18: Scarecrow Theology

When our desires become demands, we've made an idol.

When we say "Life only has meaning and I only have worth if _______", we've fashioned an idol.
 
When there is something besides Jesus that captures our hearts, we are enslaved to an idol.

These empty idols are powerless and lifeless. Kind of like scarecrows.

Jeremiah 10:5-6
Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,

and they cannot speak;

they have to be carried,

for they cannot walk...

There is none like you, O Lord;

you are great, and your name is great in might.

Jesus, your name is LIFE!
